Adelaide was brought up by artist parents who grounded her to a truly innovative mindset. Her father illustrated the value of creativity and self-motivation through his transformation from a struggling artist to a successful painter and gallery owner. Her mother demonstrated the significance of physical expression through her art as a beautiful dancer.
In August of 2005 Adelaide moved to San Diego to create the Middle Eastern Dance Company, The Shimmy Sisters, with her sister Leilainia. Since then she has risen and flourished as a fully sustainable performance artist. Her talents have extended far beyond the Belly Dance influence of her mother to Circus Acrobatics, Fire Spinning, Hooping, Drumming, Stilt Walking, Painting and more!
The inspiration Adelaide soaks up from her creative lifestyle is evident in her visual art. Adelaide considers her visual creations a balancing mechanism in her career. Painting is a time where she steps out of the spot light to look inward a let her mind unravel. As a Visionary Artist, Adelaide focuses on art that has a message. Clients seek Adelaide for her intuitive ability to convey their emotions and transitions on a canvas.
Whether delivered live through her performance pieces or captured timelessly in her paintings, Adelaide is expressing a self that is unbound. As she has expanded in many directions she has come to recognize all of her creative endeavors as one. Adelaide is her Art!

Global Consciousness Video Series

Adelaide Marcus ( www.ArtbyAdelaide.com) and Akira Chan (www.AkiraChanArts.com/) have combined their video-making and performing art talents to make a Global Consciousness video series that spreads awareness to all who see. Their latest project, Default Evolution, illustrates the importance of “waking up” and finding our hearts. Created to the music of DJ Kaminanda (www.http://kaminanda.bandcamp.com/) Each video contains a different message expressed in a way that creates change through art and magic. Every one ends with a message that is expressed throughout the video using layers and layers of artistic expression.
