WATCH “HEY MAMI”

Sylvan Esso Cover

Description

Ladies & Gents, this is the very first of a series of covers and video collaboration with my love! I will be taking different songs, looping them (some of my own and some covers) and creating my own story line with them! Once the concept is born, the delivery is captured by my partner – a very talented videographer among many other things! For now, here is the first – #HeyMami – A #SylvanEsso cover. The song itself, to me, represents a woman who doesn’t know the power of her own beauty. In the video you’ll notice that only half of my face has makeup on it. Which leads me to a very important message that I’d also like to share with young women of today.

#Uncover Yourself. You are beautiful exactly the way that you are. In our society we are so wrapped up with creating a facade that is alluring and presentable to those around us. The fear of judgement engulfs us so much to the point that we work so hard at creating identities outside of ourselves to show to other people. This often times leads us to self loathing, and self hate, versus that of self love when we get home and #uncover ourselves. You condition yourself to love the woman with a mask more than the woman without the mask – sound familiar? As a woman, my guess is that you rarely ever go out the door without putting some kind of makeup on. Is it because you enjoy the art of makeup? Or is it because you feel that your natural beauty isn’t presentable enough?

#Challenge – Go one day without wearing make up – just one day. To work (if you can), To school, running errands, and out with friends. If you want to take it even further, go one week without wearing makeup. See how your face feels at the end of the week. Notice the difference of your pores, the softness of your skin, and if your acne has improved at all.

#FunFact – the only makeup I ever wear is burts bees plum lip balm. This video was the first time I ever applied foundation to my face.

If you like the message, share it <3

The instrument that inspired her first was the drum because of her Native American background. This led her to explore many types of sacred ceremonies that revolved around music. From there, she expanded her vocal range and learned how to play many different types of instruments such as the crystal bowls, tuning forks, handpan, didgeridoo, guitar and more! Her mission is to spread a message of inner and outer awareness.
