PRODUCTION COORDINATOR
No Barriers seeks a Production Coordinator for a temporary 3-month position to support the implementation of the No Barriers Summit. The Production Coordinator with work with a small but mighty staff to manage his/her roles and responsibilities related to the No Barriers Summit. Events at No Barriers play a pivotal role in amplifying the impact of the No Barriers Mission – what’s within you is stronger than what’s in your way. The annual No Barriers Summit (www.nobarrierssummit.org) is part inspiration, part action. This unparalleled 4-day outdoor experiential conference empowers people to break through barriers, find their inner purpose and contribute their very best to the world. The Summit is accessible for people of all abilities.
Responsibilities include:
Organize and coordinate stage production during events and entertainment including AV teams and equipment, lighting, script generation, and speaker engagement. Main production events include but not limited to: Opening and Closing Ceremonies, No Barriers University, film festival, and a community concert.
Work with other No Barriers Staff to design and purchase directional signage, branding, and outreach materials
Monitor event finances including revenue and expenses with support from No Barriers accounting team
Create and revise room layouts for each event
Prepare and modify event contracts as required
Propose new ideas to improve the event planning and implementation process
Create and implement logistical plans for events including, but not limited to: speaker coordination, all-summit event space design and set up, and volunteer management.
Required competencies and skills:
Experience in events or conference management preferable
Experience in production management including lighting, script design, and audio visual plans
Ability to keep calm under pressure and manage many moving parts
Computer Skills: Literate in Word, Excel, Google Documents, and presentation software
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and posses excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with clients from participants to corporate partners.
Systems-oriented with a knack for detailed thinking and problem solving
Work well independently and can take limited direction and run with it
Ability to make strategic decisions about priorities based on analysis, innovation, teamwork and a willingness to boldly embrace adversity
Desired competencies and skills:
Experience working with diverse populations including people with disabilities
Price negotiation skills with vendors
Salary is commensurate with experience. 3-month term position
